Another pro’s image diminished

He was once a pro-football icon, an idol and fan’s best friend.

Guilty or not, Michael Vick’s status as being one of the quickest, most athletic quarterbacks in the NFL has plummeted.

It’s a conspiracy that’s left to be determined; but the Atlanta Falcons star allegedly hosted what he thought was a dog show consisting of dog torcher and fighting.

Though a different run-in with law enforcement, this is yet another situation in which a professional athlete has ruined one’s name and accountability.

What will it take for these renowned sports figures to hold strong to the life they choose after signing a contract? How can they avoid the media in negative ways?

Simple. Follow the rules.

They know they’re being watched, but they still continue to put themselves in of position of descent.

Our hometown team, the Cincinnati Bengals are having a hard time dealing with this as well. We just can’t seem to stop them.

Of course, it gives media something to sink their teeth into. We have to put this in the eyes of a fan, one who watches and adores some of these troublesome individuals.

If the upper authorities, commissioners, managers and coaches all think they’ve got everything under control, then why do these so-called professionals not think before they end their dream careers, mess up their team’s surrounding cast or, better yet, give a distraught image to their beloved fans?

Maybe it’s about time they’re put on a tighter leash.
